A commercial building on a narrow urban plot has two duties. It should be a good neighbour, and it should be findable without a giant sign.
The study recesses the brick front, sets vertical fins for shade, and keeps a tall ground-floor room open to the street. At night that room is the sign. The floors above stay quieter: smaller openings, deeper shade, a structure you can read from the lane.
The wet street is deliberate. A city after rain is a real lighting condition, not a cloudless render. The building should still feel composed when the ground is shining.
