Founder and chief executive

The Design Verge was established in 2025. The practice is based in Bangladesh.

Studies begin as paper and a model.

Maria Islam Priyanto founded the studio and leads it. She teaches as a lecturer at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, and she is a teaching and research assistant at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.

The studio takes on architecture, interiors, houses, and commercial buildings. If you are not sure which of those words fits, write with the plot and what the building has to hold. The right word can wait.

How a project moves

Five steps, kept plain.

  1. 01

    Conversation

You write. The studio wants the place, the measurement, and the life the building has to hold.

  2. 02

    Plot and climate

Sun, rain, neighbours, and the ground floor come before a style.

  3. 03

    Studies

A plan, a model, a few honest views. Enough to decide.

  4. 04

    Drawings

The decisions become something a builder can price and a family can trust.

  5. 05

    The site

Close enough that the drawing survives contact with brick and weather.
